You can try selling them on ebay or amazon but I think there's almost no value to them nowadays. Non of those is rare or wanted and the information is too old already and all can be found on the World Book Encyclopedia's site.

I have the 2 volume set and am finding that most people dont have both books, mainly book #2 L-Z and are being sold for $ 28.00. I amstill researching for their "true" value. I notice the on ly other answer you recv'd is from the same person on several different blogs giving the same exact answer to everyone. I am not speaking ill of this blogger, I believe a better answer to be more appropriate other than trying to sell them on e-bay. There are other on-line auction sites that are selling some of what you have in your collection. I have 8 different, complete sets and have been researching them all for over a week now. There are collectors who value BOOKS more than just typing in information in a search engine. I would much rather use the actual books than an internet search because of the age of the book, the smell of the book, the feel of the book and seeing what was considered, a lengthy definition, but was more informative that a one sentence phrase. Any ways, I love vintage/rare books and will continue to collect them irregardless. My set is a 1963, the by Thorndike/Barnhart, published by doubleday. The ones I mentioned before we 1968 editions by a different publisher. I wish you luck in your search.

Value of old books depends on a few things. First is their rarity. First edition gets the higher values. Older books are naturally more rare. Their condition is important too. I like old books myself and I don't really mind their market value but seeing this specific book which is not very old, not rare at all and probably not a first edition, I don't think it has much value as a collector's item. But than again, I may be wrong.
