With the limited amount of information you posted, I cannot determine what you have Is there any reason you cannot post a picture of it and/or give a more detailed description of it? Or what you would like me to comment on it?

For the sake of this conversation, all current coins of pound sterling carry a Latin inscription whose full form is ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA FIDEI DEFENSOR, meaning "Elizabeth II, by the grace of God, Queen and Defender of the Faith". Hopefully, for this audience, this helps to explain what you have found.
