Greta, I have no idea what my painting is worth, but love it to no end. I would like to know so that I may insure it properly.

Hi James, (Post 150 and 151

You have an interesting piece of DIEGO History, a reward because your father fixed DIEGO's car!

I believe there are hundreds of people just like you who have inherited a DIEGO work of art. One by one this community website is bringing them to the surface.

I have no doubt your "Tommy the Clown" is a genuine and original DIEGO oil. Please sign on and edit your post at the top of your image and add the size, the year your dad received it from DIEGO.

We have been trying to connect with DIEGO owners and/or collectors for the last few months... have you checked out the "DIEGO History" thread as well as the "General" one you posted your message on?

Also, if you e-mail HELGA VOCI (DIEGO's widow) at helga.voci@gmx.de she could tell you by the number what year it was done - and you could add that to your post as well.

Regards, Coop

HELP! NEED TO LOCATE DIEGO CARICATURES

In addition to oil paintings and drawings, DIEGO also did caricatures.

See the colorful and humorous depiction of DIEGO's father-in-law, the Dentist.

It is one of the latest posts to the "DIEGO VOCI History" thread. (Was listed as Post #41 - see 2nd Page) http://www.artifactcollectors.com/diego-history- 4330818/Page2.html#41

DIEGO BIOGRAPHY by Helga Voci

Another chapter of the "HELGA and DIEGO" biography has been posted on the "DIEGO VOCI History" thread on this AC website.

This intimate historical fact-filled DIEGO information has never been available until posted on "Artifacts Collectors". Good reading!

If you too have a personal DIEGO experience, feel free to include it on the "DIEGO VOCI HISTORY" thread. In time, a rich and informative mosaic will form and enhance the depth and value of this dedicated and talented man's body of artwork.

DIEGO is experiencing a rebirth after a quarter of a century of silence. As many as 10,000 paintings and drawings may be out there.

Let's bring them together for all to share and enjoy!

The new diegovoci (.com) website has been launched. We are about 70% complete, but the general layout has been built. We're trying to build the gallery such that each piece of art will auto zoom when it is selected and will show the title and size of the piece. We also need to have a "sign in " for all of the Diego collectors. Thanks you all for your patience, and your ongoing love of the Art of Diego.

To James Bowers23 Post 153,

Reviewing some of the more recent posts, we ran across Greta’s Guest Post of her DIEGO painting.

Instead of adding the image following your post under the existing topic title “Diego Voci (Antonio Diego Voci),” - Greta simply created another Guest post with a completely new topic title: “Cavaliere.”

Thus it is now isolated off by itself (there are other DIEGO fans who’ve inadvertenly created as "Guest" new topic titles – we refer to them as ‘orphans’LOST IN CYBERSPACE. We responded to all we could find- to no avail).

It looks like Greta’s DIEGO may be a work on paper. Check it out! Coop

Luckystrike,

Nice to see your DIEGO! Please sign in and "edit" your Post here on page 6 of this topic title...

...at the end of your original post please add the following to your DIEGO watercolor: size, age, and is it on paper?

Also, where did you acquire it? Auction name?

By the way, if you had any knowledge or experience with DIEGO before your purchase, please share it with us [b]DIEGO Aficionados. Things of historical nature are posted on the topic "DIEGO Voci History."

Thanks, Coop

LUCKYSTRIKE...RE: DIEGO

Just saw your DIEGO painting information on your 'other' AC Post under a completely separate "NEW" topic title... "This is a painting we purchased from Diego in 1982..."

It seems that some "NEW" topic titles, such as your's become ‘orphans’; they seem to get lost out there.

We (and almost all of the other DIEGO aficionados) have kept the DIEGO posts on the two most active topic DIEGO topic titles:

1) “DIEGO Voci (Antonio Diego Voci)”
2) “DIEGO Voci History

We look forward to hearing back from you here!

45 YEAR OLD DIEGO VOCI MASTERWORK DISCOVERED

Who bought it? How much? Who put it up for sale?

We’re coming closer to locating a large realistic DIEGO masterwork “Alt und Jung” that was featured in the 1965 newspaper ad by Schloss Galerie in Zurich, Switzerland. The ad in the"Neue Zuricher Zeitung" says, “Antonio Voci”, the work is signed “A Voci” in lower right. http://www.artifactcollectors.com/diego-history- 4330818.html#5

43 years after the Schloss Galerie sold it, “Alt und Jung” showed up in Florida titled “Horses Grazing,” in a KODNER GALLERIES Auction Catalog dated September 17, 2008. We just discovered it on the internet at their website. See color image below.

The low estimated auction price range was robbery. We need to find the horse thief and get those horses back. The world needs to know DIEGO works are worth more money!

That’s why we need to gather worker-bee DIEGO fans to get more aggressive in rounding up the whereabouts of all DIEGO’s artwork to enhance the value.

We've attached the image as seen on the Kodner website. Their catalog description of “Horses Grazing” is Oil on Canvas; frame size is 47" x 59"

The 1965 Schloss Galerie ad reads "Alt und Jung” by Antonio Voci. You can see the newspaper ad shown on this AC site under title “DIEGO Voci History” (Post #5 on first page).

I’d like to buy this piece, if somebody has a contact point.

Coop www.diegovociproject.com

PS: On a phone call September 20, 2010, Russ Kodner did not provide any information on the sale. He also ignored our request to forward a confidential inquiry we provided to the buyer and seller to allow them to respond to our objective of identifying and cataloging the whereabouts of all DIEGO’s great body of work.

$750! OUCH!

On October 13th, 2010 Paula of KODNER Galleries, finally e-mailed that "Horses Grazing" their title for "Alt und Jung" sold at Auction on September 17th 2008 for only $750!

That is way, way too low! Much lower than it was sold for 45 years ago.

Evidently it is really a buyer's market.

I put in an offer to buy it from the winning bidder at a higher price, but KODNER refuses to reveal the whereabouts of this DIEGO painting.

"FARMERS" - DIEGO Pastel Drawing on paper

While looking online for more on DIEGO, we came across another piece of his artwork. An auction outfit in Canada listed a pastel on paper titled “FARMERS.”

The description of this DIEGO oil/pastel FARMERS drawing included the size as 28” x 22” and was estimated to bring Canadian $250 - $350.

The site indicated an auction was to occur yesterday, 21 September at 5:00 pm Ottawa time (*).

We’ve captured the DIEGO image "FARMERS" here for your viewing pleasure.

ALERT: DIEGO Voci Artwork Auctioned, pictured in preceeding post

Shawn Spooner has notified us that on September 21, 2010, the DIEGO “Farmers” large pastel on paper pictured in the preceding post sold for only $135 Canadian Dollars at Spooner Auctions & Appraisers.

Unfortunately the auction house knew nothing from the seller, except the signature “Diego,” and the incorrect origin: “Spanish/German.” They did not know “Voci” as the family name, or Italy as it’s origin.

Important. When “DIEGO” is googled, not including the family name “Voci,” there is no reference to be found for “Antonio Diego Voci,” yet. Lots of “San Diego,” and smatterings of other DIEGO artists, Rivera, Valasquez, etc.
Any search for our DIEGO must include the last name “Voci” (pronounced VOH-CHEE).

Therein lies the problem: our DIEGO remains virtually unknown in the art world, except to those of us who own his works from decades ago. That’s something we all need to work together to change.

In contrast to DIEGO whose works went to collectors about as fast as he could complete them, there was a guy named Van Gogh who in his lifetime could not get people to buy his work. But today, if this “Farmers” pastel were a Van Gogh drawing of the potato people, you would have to add at least 3 zeroes to the sales price. DIEGO has a ways to go. It's a buyer's market.

For more about DIEGO’s Life and Art, check out the “DIEGO Voci History” title on this website for recent biographical entries by DIEGO’s widow Helga http://www.artifactcollectors.com/diego-history- 4330811.html#30 and from DIEGO's grand-nephew Chris Voci.

This DIEGO Image is extracted from a DIEGO catalog designed by Adolph Merkt in 1979. See Post #48 under the topic "DIEGO VOCI History" on the AC website for other images and comments by the late Siegfried Dahms of the pretigious DAHMS Galerie in Wiesbaden Germany.

Hi Sid

I've had a couple of nibbles today already -
First questions was about its size - about 2'x3'

I bought it from Diego and Helga via a 'party' some friends of mine had. It was the 'prize' take that day.

I was fascinated by the colors and theme, but I did buy it as an investment.

The frame is original and some code on the back (also signed by Diego) has the numbers 287-789 and the words '
I think spelled "Donne con natisa morta' Pretty close. The "i" could be a u umlout (sp?)

Gold fleck in painting and on frame as I remember the discussion.

Frankly I'm out to get as much as I'm able.
Because of the 'nibbles' and what I've said to others already,
I'd rather discuss price over the <phone>

Another new DIEGO Voci Image discovered.

This large DIEGO painting was one of two paintings on raw burlap commissioned by Joy and Jawdat Naffouj. Joy lives in Canada. Jawdat still operates a gallery in Landstuhl Germany. He has several DIEGO lithograph editions available that he published in the early 70s.

This painting has never been displayed since completed 45 years ago.

Poor People 39 ½ x 47 ½

Hello Coop:

Things are going very well with the recent addition of Lisa Camargo to the team. Today I cleared the final review of the website, it will be up and running any day now. Keep checking it. How can we get in touch with Joy Naffouj? Do you have an e-mail or phone number?
