I have been given an Adderley china tea set, (cups saucers, tea plates, sugar bowl and milk jug).

The base shows a crown with 1789 printed underneath the crown. There are gold marks showing the letter M and number 213. The pattern is a maroon/gold design with flowers on the inside.

I know Adderley was one of the original potters at Stoke-on-Trent.

Does anyone know any more about this design and what sort of value it may have?

The number 1789 should be the year the potter started working. The M213 is the design number.

Hi there- were you ever able to find out the value? I have a tea cup & saucer in that pattern and I was wondering.

Thanks

It is most likely after 1947, after Ridgway took over. They kept the Adderley name, but used the 1789 date.
